“Each team brings a unique set of projects and ideas to foster sustainable change within their communities.”

Central University of Technology’s Enactus selected their students for this year’s national Enactus Exposition competition with the hope of bringing back the trophy for the third consecutive year.

Student teams compete in the Enactus SA competition by showcasing their entrepreneurial initiatives that tackle local social, economic, and environmental challenges. The project is assessed based on its innovativeness, significance, and sustainability.

“We present our initiatives through detailed reports and engaging presentations to a panel of judges, showcasing our ability to drive meaningful change and improve livelihoods,” said CUT Enactus vice president Tumelo Motlalane.

This year the competition will take place on the 9th of July at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

Each year regional competitions are held leading up to the national final. In these regional competitions teams' projects are assessed on various criteria including the project impact, entrepreneurial spirit, and sustainable development. From this, only the top-performing teams from each region are selected for the national competition.

“Twelve teams from various universities across South Africa will compete at the national Enactus ZA competition. Each team brings a unique set of projects and ideas to foster sustainable change within their communities,” added Tumelo.

This year’s team from CUT consists of 24 eager and excited students led by Basetsana Tsubane and Neo Moabi, two alumni and the founders of the enterprise, who are ready to give their best and hopefully bring home their third win.

“For seven months the team has sacrificed sleep, time, and dedication to keep the trophy home, in Free State, in Central University of Technology. We are fuelled with confidence and a hunger for the Championship. We are Ready!” added Tumelo.
