Cricket South Africa has named their 15-man squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup India.

There were no real surprises in the team, bar the exclusion of seamer Morné Morkel while spinner Aaron Phangiso has seemingly been forgiven for his drunken antics on a recent domestic flight.

The Phalaborwa Express, Dale Steyn, is a race against time as his availability is subject to him being passed fit – leaving a slim chance of Morkel being a late inclusion.

The squad will be led by Faf du Plessis and the rest of the team for the tournament on the subcontinent are Kyle Abbott, Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, David Miller, Chris Morris, Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw and David Wiese.

Both Rossouw of the VKB Knights and Wiese missed the series in India late last year due to injury.

Du Plessis says he is happy with the makeup of the team and anyone can win the tournament.

“The T20 World Cup is probably the tournament where anybody can win it, you know even a small team like Bangladesh.

“They can rock up and they can win the tournament and that’s what makes it so amazing.

“But I do think that we’ve got a very, very strong team and we do play to our potential and then also as Bouchy (Mark Boucher) said with a bit of luck then you can find yourself in the semi-finals and the team that is almost peaking at the right time will try and win it.”

South Africa face England next week in two T20 Internationals, before three matches against Australia. They will then head to India.

Full Squad - Faf du Plessis (Captain), Kyle Abbott, Hashim Amla, Farhaan Behardien, Quinton de Kock, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Imran Tahir, David Miller, Chris Morris , Aaron Phangiso , Kagiso Rabada, Rilee Rossouw (VKB Knights), Dale Steyn, David Wiese.
