Langeveldt steps down as Proteas bowling coach─── MORGAN PIEK 09:11 Tue, 17 Jan 2023

The Proteas men’s cricket team will be appointing a new bowling coach as well in the coming weeks as Charl Langeveldt will be exploring other opportunities after four years in the national setup.
On Monday, Shukri Conrad, was appointed as the new head coach for the Test team, while Rob Walter has been named in the position for the One-Day International and T20 International teams.
At this stage it is unclear if the pair will retain the same technical staff that served under Mark Boucher, however, the former Proteas seam bowler - who has a rare international hat-trick to his name - Langeveldt, has stepped down from his role as the bowling coach.
The Cricket South Africa (CSA) Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, has confirmed that Langeveldt has resigned.
“Someone like Charl Langeveldt has already indicated that he's going to be moving on,” said Nkwe when asked about the current technical staff in place.
“He's been in the international space for the past four years, but he's not necessarily lost to the system.
“He's looking at other opportunities because it is very hard for other coaches to sustain their well-being over a four to eight-year period.
“We respect his decision,” added Nkwe.
“He's got an opportunity now with the Indian Premier League, but we'll also look at ways of how he can add value to the system in a different role.”
As a player Langeveldt took exactly 100 wickets for South Africa in 72 One-Day Internationals, while he took nine T20 International wickets (nine games) and 16 Test wickets (6 Tests).
