Louis Luyt dies at age 80─── 13:30 Fri, 01 Feb 2013

South African business tycoon, politician and former SA Rugby President Louis Luyt has died.
Luyt was president when the Springboks won the Rugby World Cup in 1995. In 1976, during the apartheid era, Luyt founded a new English language newspaper, The Citizen.
He was also at the helm of the Transvaal Rugby Union, now the Golden Lions, in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.
Luyt was also a former Free State rugby player.
Luyt was 80 years old.
The cause of his death is unknown but he had been suffering from heart ailments for some time.
