The bag was separated from its owners during transport, and when it was passed through an X-ray machine, the skull was discovered.

The CPB and Fish and Wildlife Service examined the skull and found that it belonged to a baby dolphin.

Items manufactured from specific animals may not be in your possession, according to US law.

According to Area Port Director Robert Larkin, "We take wildlife smuggling seriously and work closely with our federal partners at the U.S. Fish and Species Service to safeguard wildlife and their ecosystems."

The skull was given to the Office of Law Enforcement of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, whose specialists will look into the matter.
