Bloemfontein - Ficksburg police say the arrest of four constables on assault charges is not linked to a strategy at the station that has seen the operational efficiency of the local charge office improve to 100% this month.
Police spokesperson Phumelelo Dhlamini says the station is ranked among the top performing stations in the country for the month of July based on the SAPS’ internal performance chart.
He says reaction time has improved, crime prevention is up from around 60% to 78,69% and the town’s service centre obtained first place out of more than 1 000 stations across SA.
The achievement is somewhat overshadowed by the fact that four Ficksburg constables allegedly forming part of the controversial “Rambo Squad” appeared in court this week on assault charges.
