Lichtenburg - North West police is monitoring the situation at the Rooigrond informal settlement where disgruntled residents gathered last night on the Mahikeng-Lichtenburg road.
Police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, says the illegal gathering was not out of control and no damage was caused to any property. Residents are unhappy about poor service delivery. He says the unhappy residents only gathered along the road to insist that their ward councillor address them regarding the building of RDP houses.
Mokgwabone says the violent service delivery protests that erupted in Boitumelong near Bloemhof and Coverdale in Christiana last week have died down, but police presence remains high.
