Problems found during DA's site visit to investigate FS bucket eradication programme─── CATHY DLODLO 15:55 Mon, 17 Aug 2015
Ladybrand - Several problems were found with the bucket eradication programme in the Mantsopa Local municipality in the Free State during a site visit by DA MPLs this morning.
The party decided to investigate indications by the provincial department of cooperative governance that all buckets have been eradicated in the area, which includes Tweespruit and Ladybrand.
The eradication programme was criticised by members of parliament's portfolio committee on water and sanitation earlier this year when it emerged that Bloemwater – that was appointed as the implementing agent - paid R30 000 per toilet, but the majority of those installed, cannot flush.
