Man arrested after triple murder at Vredefort farm─── REFILWE GAESWE 05:32 Mon, 21 Sep 2015
Vredefort - A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murders of a farm foreman and two children at a farm near Vredefort in the Free State.
Police spokesperson Maselela Langa said the suspect was having dinner with Hansie Raath and six children at Palmietkuil farm at about 7pm on Saturday. Langa said the man allegedly went into a bedroom and took a pistol from the safe, returned to the kitchen, and shot the foreman behind the ear.
The man allegedly stole a firearm and a bakkie, which was found in Kroonstad yesterday. He will appear in court soon on charges of murder, theft of a firearm, and theft of a motor vehicle.
