Parys murder trial: Van Aswegen says to attack Marx was his brainchild─── DANE BEISHEIM 12:39 Mon, 01 Feb 2016

Parys - Koenraad van Aswegen Junior has testified under cross examination in the Parys High Court that the attack on a local businessman was his brainchild.
He stands accused alongside his father Koenraad, brother Nickolai and a friend David Kuyler for the murder of Craig Marx.
He denied however that it was their plan to murder Marx, who was also his former employer. He said he simply wanted to teach Marx a lesson for his alleged poor treatment of Van Aswegen. Van Aswegen Jr. also admitted he assaulted Marx with a pipe and then cut off his oxygen supply.
OFM News's Dane Beisheim reports that Van Aswegen could not provide answers to some inconsistencies in his testimony.
He could not explain how Marx provided them with the PIN code for his bank account despite his mouth supposedly being covered with tape. The accused also insisted that his accomplices withdrew money from Marx's account despite CCTV footage showing him doing it.
The deceased was attacked on 4 December 2014 and murdered, after which his body was later dumped 15km outside the town in a storm water drain.
The case continues.
