Parys murder trial: Van Aswegen downplays his involvement─── DANE BEISHEIM 17:43 Mon, 01 Feb 2016

Parys - Whilst downplaying his involvement in the 2014 murder of Craig Marx throughout the trial, accused Koenraad van Aswegen Sr. surprised the court today by admitting under cross-examination that the way Marx’s body was bound, was sloppy.
He said he would have done a better job if given another chance.
Van Aswegen is accused of murdering Marx, along with his sons Koenraad Jr and Nickolai, as well as their friend, David Kuyler. OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that Van Aswegen maintains Marx’s death was an unfortunate accident.
The elder Van Aswegen also testified that he tried to dissuade Jr, an employee of Marx, from taking revenge on him for his alleged abusive manner, by robbing him.
Marx’s body was found tied up and thrown into a storm water pipe 15km outside the town, two years ago. He had been badly assaulted with a pipe and suffocated.
The trial resumes tomorrow at 10:00.
