Parys four to be sentenced in April─── DANE BEISHEIM 12:52 Thu, 04 Feb 2016

Parys - The sentencing of four men convicted of murdering Craig Marx, a businessman from Parys, has been reserved for April 25.
The court will then also decide on the fate of André Kruger, a fifth accused who turned state witness.
Koenraad van Aswegen Sr, his sons JR and Nickolai as well as their friend David Kuyler were all found guilty of murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances this morning.
OFM News’ Dane Beisheim reports that Judge Lani Opperman was very critical of the accused's testimonies.
Judge Opperman said that she rejected JR van Aswegen's defense that Marx's death by asphyxiation was an accident with the contempt it deserved. She added that greed was the main motivator for the men's actions and that they acted with a clear intent.
Meanwhile, Kuyler's bail has been extended and Nickolai van Aswegen was warned to be at court on April 25. The elder Van Aswegen and his son remain in custody.
