Charges withdrawn against accused schoolgirl murderers─── 13:35 Tue, 29 Mar 2016
Brits - Charges were withdrawn on Tuesday against two of the four people accused of burning a schoolgirl to death in Letlhabile, near Brits, North West.
The State withdrew charges against Koketso Moyo and Victor Pilane in the Brits Magistrate's Court.
The matter against Cynthia Mosopi and Gugulethu Sharon Thwala was transferred to the High Court in Pretoria for their trial, which would start on October 17.
They faced charges of kidnapping and murder. They allegedly kidnapped Boitumelo Dlamini, 19, from Eletsa Secondary School in Letlhabile in June last year, after Mosopi accused her of dating her boyfriend.
Dlamini was doused with petrol and set alight. Bail of R3 000 for Thwala and R1 000 for Mosopi was extended.
