Macufe continues to grow─── 16:08 Mon, 10 Oct 2016
Bloemfontein - C-squared Chief Executive Officer, Ben Moseme, says attendance at Macufe this year was much higher than previous years.
Moseme says with the DStv Delicious Festival held in Johannesburg on the same day as the main festival, they were worried that attendance might be low, but this was not the case. Moseme says that as the festival grows, so does the challenge of ensuring the venues can handle large numbers of people.
"We can only sell 20 000 tickets for the main festival and only 3 000 tickets for VIP guests. So if plans to relocate the zoo can be fast-tracked that will give us space to create a much bigger corporate village. Because if you try to move Macufe to another venue outside the city, you’ll be killing the economic hub of the city. The point is to make sure that people spend money," Moseme added.
He says their aim is to ensure that entrepreneurs in the city also benefit from the festival. A detailed report regarding the logistics of the festival is expected to be released within 30 days.
