Vanderbijlpark - A man died after he was struck by a lightning in Vanderbijlpark on Thursday, paramedics said.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe said the man believed to be in his thirties was struck by lightning on Ravel Street in Staalrus, Vanderbijlpark.
“It is believed that the man was struck by lightning after sheltering under a tree during a thunderstorm in the area. When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene, they found the man lying under the tree next to his bicycle. Sadly, he had already died.”
