Bloemfontein - Serial house robber and Lesotho citizen, David Moeketsi (28), was sentenced to two decades in prison in the Free State High Court today, after being convicted on several counts of house robbery and one count of rape.

Moeketsi pleaded guilty to all eight charges relating to house robberies in various Bloemfontein suburbs dating back from March 2014. During these robberies items to the value of thousands of rands were stolen.

In one incident the convicted criminal admitted to tying up a domestic worker, while during another robbery he threatened a woman with a knife and raped her.

Acting Judge Ronnie Bokwa sentenced Moeketsi – in terms of a plea and sentencing agreement – to twenty years imprisonment.

Moeketsi was linked to the cases through fingerprints and DNA tests.
