Parys - The Police in Parys are investigating a case of murder after the body of Ronel Claassens was discovered by her domestic worker this morning.
According to Free State police spokesperson Livhuhani Hani she was found on her bedroom floor. She had allegedly been strangled. Police patrolling the streets last night at 22:00 noticed a suspicious looking vehicle driving without its headlights on. The police tried to stop the vehicle, which had Botswana number plates. The driver stopped the vehicle and ran away.
A television and electrical appliances belonging to Claassens were found inside the vehicle, which was then impounded. Hani says it was later also discovered that the vehicle belonged to the deceased.
“A case of murder has been registered for further investigation and anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the perpetrators should contact the police in Parys on 056-816-2534 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111,” Hani added.
