The University of the Free State (UFS), together with the Student Representative Council (SRC), has established a Financial Exclusions Committee to investigate the issue of international students’ deregistration.

This after several students were deregistered due to outstanding fees about two weeks ago.

SRC president, Asive Dlanjwa, says in the meantime over 40 students who have been deregistered will soon resume their studies. Speaking at the students’ mass meeting, Dlanjwa made an assurance that all financial issues faced by both local and international students are being attended to.

Dlanjwa says the committee will handle each case on its own merit and come up with amicable solutions to help the student community move forward.
