Centlec hopeful its vending system will be up and running today─── CHRISTAL-LIZE MULLER 07:56 Tue, 26 Sep 2017
The Mangaung Metro's electricity supplier, Centlec, has reassured residents in the Bloemfontein area that its vending system is expected to be up and running by the end of today.
Centlec spokesperson, Lele Mamathu, says the system has been offline since a power failure in the city on Sunday prevented residents to purchase electricity tokens online, as well as at outlets.
Once power supply was restored on Sunday, it was established that it affected Centlec’s vending system’s machine generating electricity tokens.
He says technicians have been working since then and the whole of yesterday to resolve the problem, but it became clear that the extent of the problem was bigger than it was anticipated.
Experts are expected to assist in attending to the problem today. Centlec once again would like to apologise to its customers for any inconvenience in this regard.
“We are doing everything in our power to resolve the problem.”
For enquiries, people can call Centlec’s 24 hour Call Centre at 082-295-5481 or 079-745-1700.
