Du Plooy, who appeared briefly in the same court last Thursday, October 12, faces a charge of murder and two charges of attempted murder. He allegedly shot and killed 15-year-old Spencer Tshukudu from Blydeville and injured two other young men between the ages of 17 and 20 years old. 

The incident took place on 10 October at 08:00 near Sukran, Lichtenburg, during violent service delivery protests. He was arrested on the same day after handing himself to the police at about 22:00. According to police spokesperson, Sabata Mokgwabone, the case has been postponed until November 30 for further investigation.
