Two dead, five injured in crash near Rustenburg─── NOMAQHAWE MTEBELE 10:50 Mon, 25 Dec 2017
A man and child were killed when two vehicles collided on the R24 about 10km outside Rustenburg this morning. Five people were found with minor to moderate injuries.
However, the girl - estimated to be aged between five and seven - and adult male were declared dead at the scene of the accident. They were found with fatal injuries inside one of the vehicles. According to ER24’s Werner Vermaak, the others were treated on scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
“Shortly before 8am, paramedics from ER24, EMS, and the fire services arrived on the scene where they found the two vehicles mangled together,” said Vermaak. According to Vermaak, the exact circumstances surrounding the collision is not yet known. Local authorities attended the scene and will conduct an investigation.
