WATCH: Taxi driver’s moment of madness claims eight lives─── 10:29 Mon, 26 Mar 2018
Eight people, including a newborn baby, have died after the taxi they were travelling in was swept off the Linakaneng River Bridge in Lesotho last week.
After the third day of heavy rains throughout Lesotho, the bridge in question was flooded, making travel extremely risky and unwise.
However, a taxi driver operating in the Thaba Tseka district abandoned all reason and took on the rough waters, putting all of his commuters’ lives at risk.
Eight of his commuters paid the ultimate price, while seven were rescued. The driver, as is often the case, emerged from the incident unscathed.
We have not been able to confirm if he has been arrested yet.

The South African Weather Service issued a warning, advising people to not drive through or over a flooded road or bridge. Even if you're on foot, you should be aware that you can be knocked down by just 15 cm of moving water.
