UFS student in hospital after accident─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 13:40 Wed, 25 Apr 2018

The safety of students at the University of the Free State has once again come under the spotlight after a 23-year-old student was hit by a car just outside the Bloemfontein campus’ main gate today.
Police spokesperson, Wendy Nkabi, says the 23-year-old female student sustained injuries and is receiving medical care at Pelonomi Hospital.
She says the student was hit by a white Nissan bakkie and an accident report is registered.
Meanwhile, University’s spokesperson, Lacea Loader, is yet to respond to OFM News’ enquiries on students' safety and if there is any plan of action following the incident.
Vice-Chancellor, Francis Peterson, earlier told OFM News the safety of both on-campus and off-campus students is a priority for the university, although it’s a challenge when it comes to off-campus students.
