Three unknown gunmen fired shots at a North West man as he was returning home from visiting friends.
Police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, told OFM News the victim – whose name has not been officially released yet – was shot at a smallholding close to Rooigrond.
She said the preliminary report indicates that the deceased was visiting friends and that he stays about 10km away from where the incident took place.
"He wanted to go home so he went outside and approached the gate which was locked. He stopped his vehicle and went to unlock the gate when three unknown suspects appeared and allegedly shot and killed him. The friends heard the shot and tried to see what was going on. There was also a shot fired at a friend that was trying to see," Myburgh said.
She told OFM News that the suspects allegedly ran into the bushes and no arrests have been made as yet.
