Meanwhile, a few of the frustrated students at the Central University of Technology in Bloemfontein have also alleged that some of the issues that led to the protests include, among others, clashing exam papers on their timetable.
A student, who opted to remain anonymous, told OFM News on the scene that on Friday he received a timetable that informed him that he was to write two different exam papers simultaneously.
He says he was irritated by the whole situation at the university as this is disrupting his studies.
Earlier OFM News reported that Central University of Technology students in Bloemfontein have embarked on a protest.
This as it is alleged that students who were supposed to start with their year-end exams were disrupted earlier today by other students who have concerns over SRC elections.
One of the students also told OFM News that while inside Bethuel Setai Library, he heard shots and screams coming from outside as students were clashing with the private security and police.
Tempers flared up at the Central University of Technology as all examinations that were set to take place today were postponed until further notice. Students demand that the management of the university address them. They demand that the Vice Chancellor, Henk de Jager, and Deans of the different faculties address them over the postponement of the exams and the safety of students.
