OFM, the sound of your life in Central South Africa, has been nominated as the Station of the Year in the annual Liberty Radio Awards for 2018.
This in addition to the station's eleven nominations in various categories. OFM is competing against some of the country's top commercial radio stations including among other, Metro FM, Algoa FM, East Coast Radio, Jacaranda FM, Kaya FM and Power 98.7. OFM General Manager, Nick Efstathiou, says it is a proud moment for the number one commercial radio station in Central South Africa.
OFM host of the southern split of Mid-morning Magic weekdays from 09:00 to 13:00, Lerato Lelia, also did the station proud by winning the Bright Star Award that will be handed to her on the awards ceremony at the Sandton Convention Centre on April 14. The award goes to candidates 35 years and younger who is making a mark in the industry. Efstathiou says OFM faces stiff competition from some of South Africa’s most established and largest commercial radio stations, but received the third highest number of nominations with only two Johannesburg-based radio stations, Power 98.7 and Kaya FM receiving more.
