The elders believe that those tiny, cute, adorable hands are holding onto the talent/gift that God blessed that bundle of joy with. Many moons later; I hold the view that those tiny adorable hands are tightly holding onto LIFE in one hand and the RULES of that said in the other. And when the child gets older; he/she decides whether they still want to tightly hold onto their life and the rules thereof or give them over to a person/addictions/materialistic things. The danger of relinquishing your life into other people's hands is that you will miserably live the rest of your life out of other people's hands.

I always thought the sight of a broken-hearted person was the most painful sight ever... but that was before I saw the excruciating painful sight of a person who has given their life over to the world. They let the world set and dictate the rules for them. They allow people to tell them what to think, how to feel and how to live their lives. Some women feel less sexy and attractive because they let the Photoshopped pictures in the magazines dictate the rules of what being sexy is. So many young people, especially professionals, are drowning in debt because of expensive cars and a lavish lifestyle, trying to live up to people's expectations set for them. They do this because they have allowed the society to dictate the rules of their lives as to how a young professional is supposed to live. Look, I am not in anyway implying that you must disregard people's advice, all I'm saying is that you must not let people control you. You must make your own rules.

Like Will Smith rightfully put it: "Stop letting people who do so little for you, control so much of your life". Your life, your rules! You can't live your life based on other people's views. Stop letting people live their lives through you. Stop letting them set the rules for you in your own life. What it means to be successful, happy or how your relationship should be. That has to stop. Who are they to tell you what to do? When are they going to live their lives when they're busy sticking their long noses in yours? Take back the control of your life, set your own rules and live it whatever way you deem fit. Your life is your own marathon; you are the only athlete in it; so, run your own race at your own pace and on your own terms. As the scriptwriter, director, producer and the only actor/actress of your own life's movie, you owe it to yourself to best live this life thing the way you want to.
