Bloemfontein - Just over 200 Boeing 747 passengers from London who had to overnight in Bloemfontein are finally on route to their final destination, Cape Town.
The British Airways flight was diverted to Bram Fischer International Airport to refuel after it couldn’t land in Cape Town due to heavy fog.
ACSA spokesperson Deidre Davids says it was quite a challenge to process such high volumes of travellers.
Meanwhile British Airways SA spokesperson Stephen Forbes earlier told OFM News yesterday’s delays caused the flight crew to exceed its permissible flight hours and passengers therefore had to be disembarked and accommodated in Bloemfontein overnight.
The flight left Bloemfontein for Cape Town just after noon.
