Evangelist Angus Buchan expects thousands at NC prayer event | News Article

A large group of farmers and South Africans are expected to gather at Douglas in the Northern Cape on Wednesday in prayer and fellowship hosted by evangelist Angus Buchan.

Buchan says that they are expecting thousands of people. Buchan says they are doing everything according to government regulations and will host the event in the open air. He says they believe that those farmers who feel down and out, are going to stand up again and pray for rain for the areas hit by the drought. Buchan says he is very expectant, very excited, and expects a miracle, but he needs the people of South Africa to stand with him. Buchan further says he invites all listeners to join them in prayer.

“My heart is very heavy, because I’m a farmer myself. I’m not just talking about farmers, I’m talking about farmworkers, about businessmen. They have hundreds of thousands of hectares of bush [and veld] that has been burnt - I’m talking fences, buildings, houses and small huts that have been burnt. The people are really on their knees so we’re going there to have a prayer meeting tomorrow at 12:00,” Buchan says.

OFM News previously reported that Pastor Mark Southey says the recent veld fires destroyed more than 455 000 hectares of land and sparked the idea to invite farmers from all walks of life to gather and pray with Angus Buchan and refresh their spiritual lives with a message from Buchan.

Southey says that the event will take place on Wednesday, from 12 o'clock at midday to just after 2 o'clock, and that all Covid-19 protocols will be adhered to. He adds that the event will take place on a farm just outside Douglas, which is the farm of Johan Jacobs, called Voorspoed.

The gathering might be extended to a neighbouring farm, should Covid-19 regulations require that. Entry is free of charge. For more information, visit the Facebook Pages FROG Church Douglas or Angus Buchan.
