Two suspects aged 47 and 48 and arrested in North West for stock theft, are expected to appear in the the Lehurutshe Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
Police responded to a tip-off from the community that ten Bonsmara cattle valued at approximately R128 000 had been stolen at Palmietfontein farm near Zeerust.
The lawful owner was traced using the brand mark and the cattle were positively identified.
North West police spokesperson Sam Tselanyane said the Provincial Police Commissioner, Sello Kwena, welcomed the arrest of the suspects and appreciated the partnership, which led to this arrest. He urged the community to continue working with the police to curb the scourge of stock theft in the province.
