“I felt like I wasn't new anymore - I've been in this situation before. What I did wrong last year, tried not to repeat it, be better on that side.”

The 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz remains the King of Centre Court after successfully defending the men’s singles title at Wimbledon.

Yesterday the Spanish sensation was in red-hot form as he beat the seven-time champion, Novak Djokovic, in straight-sets to defend a Grand Slam title for the first time.

Alcaraz was by far superior to the 24-time Grand Slam champion and the Serbian master had no answer for what the Spanish player threw at him.

A dominant display made Alcaraz's win look easy as he took the championship with a 6-2, 6-2 and 7-6 victory.

After winning his second Wimbledon title Alcaraz said he felt more experienced and playing in a Grand Slam final doesn’t feel new anymore.

“I felt like I wasn't new anymore - I've been in this situation before,” said Alcaraz.

“What I did wrong last year, tried not to repeat it, be better on that side.

“Yesterday I was calmer than last year. For example, I tried not to think about the match or just for a few moments watching some videos. But apart from that, I try not to think about it.

“Today I think I did a really good warm-up. Just one hour and a half, one hour before the match I started to feel the nerves. Before that, I was really calm. That helped me a lot coming to the match.

“I managed the match pretty well. I remember that in last year's final, it was pretty different. Really much better for me.”

Alcaraz added that while he still young he has dreams on sitting at the same table as Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Rafael Nadal

“At the end of my career, I want to sit at the same table as the big guys.

“That's my main goal. That's my dream right now. It doesn't matter if I already won four Grand Slams at the age of 21.

“I don't know what my limit is - I don't want to think about it. I just want to keep enjoying my moment, just to keep dreaming. So let's see if at the end of my career it's going to be 25, 30, 15, or four Grand Slams. I don't know.”

On Saturday, Barbora Krejcíková won the ladies singles after being Jasmine Paolini of Italy in three-sets.
