Feinberg-Mngomezulu under no illusion about season ahead─── ILSE SMALBERGER 11:11 Tue, 24 Jun 2025

Springbok star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu believes this international season will be tougher with regard to fixtures than last season.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu made his Test debut against Wales at Twickenham last year and went on to earn eight Springbok caps. He told a press conference that his goal for the Springbok international season is to lead by example, make fewer mistakes, and be more clinical on the field.
The Springbok squad is preparing for Saturday’s clash against the Barbarians in Cape Town and the Tests against Italy and Georgia in July.
The young fly-half also acknowledged the role the experienced double World Cup winner Handre Pollard plays in the team. He said even though there is no real hierarchy when it comes to the fly-half position, Pollard is still the standard-setter in the No. 10 jersey.
“The guys around him can play freely because he knows what he’s doing. He shows it on the biggest stage and the training field. He’s always consistent, and that’s what makes him so special,” he said.
So far, Feinberg-Mngomezulu has started at flyhalf in three of South Africa’s six Rugby Championship games, including both away games against the Wallabies and the Ellis Park Test against the All Blacks.
Manie Libbok is the other flyhalf in the Springbok squad preparing for Saturday’s clash against the Barbarians in Cape Town.
Saturday’s match at the DHL Stadium kicks off at 17:00.
