SA a 'climate change hotspot': report─── 11:41 Tue, 22 Jan 2019
Southern Africa has been identified as a climate change hotspot by a 2018 special report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
South Africa has been experiencing higher than usual temperatures in recent years causing drought in parts of the country.
Wits University's climate change expert, Professor Bob Scholes, said climate change has begun to manifest in the lives of ordinary people, particularly farmers.
Scholes explained the South African marginal climate does not normally have a lot of water and with climate change, the temperatures have been raising and getting drier.
