"We are a sick nation" - Cele at Khwinana funeral─── 10:41 Sat, 09 Mar 2019
Police Minister Bheki Cele has lambasted the state of affairs in the country where violent crime has become the order of the day.
He spoke at the burial of emerging star, Sibusiso Khwinana, who was commended for his lead role in the film Matwetwe, in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
He was murdered outside the Sterland shopping mall last Friday during a cell phone robbery after attending a showing of his film.
During his eulogy, Cele questioned the mental state of citizens.
Cele also announced during the service that one suspect had been arrested in connection with the murder and that two others were being traced.
Meanwhile, a tenth suspect was reportedly arrested in connection with the murder of actor Thoriso Themane.
eNCA reported the 13-year-old suspect was taken to Polokwane police station yesterday by his parents.
He will appear in the children's court on Monday.
Three adults will appear in the magistrate's court.
The 27-year-old Themane was attacked by a gang and died of his wounds.
