'High risk' of load shedding on Tuesday, says Eskom─── 09:12 Tue, 12 Mar 2019
Eskom has announced there is a high risk of rotational load shedding on Tuesday, saying the power system is constrained.
The power utility called on customers to switch off all non-essential appliances to decrease pressure on the national grid.
The power utility on Monday said the cuts would only be implemented if "absolutely necessary". The utility warned of a high risk of power cuts, but these were not implemented.
"We continue to encourage residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period. Please switch off geysers as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand," it said in a statement.
