Eskom's woes are well-known to the nation but with changing stages of load-shedding and a constantly developing situation at the energy utility itself, the potential for misinformation is considerable.
Eskom says it's aware of parody accounts being used to spread false information.
The power utility says it will continue to provide regular updates about the state of the power system.
It is urging people to be vigilant and to seek updates from only the official Eskom website and social media platforms.
We are aware of Eskom parody accounts being used to spread fake or malicious news. We have reported these to be shut down. For updates on the power system, please follow our official handles:
