Dudu Myeni gets no legal support from SAA─── 08:06 Thu, 17 Oct 2019

South African Airways (SAA) said on Wednesday it would not support Dudu Myeni in a court case seeking to have her declared a delinquent director.
The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse and the SAA Pilots Association have accused the former board chairperson at the airline of pushing for dodgy deals.
The case will now be heard on Monday after Myeni failed to appear in court twice claiming she couldn’t afford to travel from Durban to Pretoria to attend proceedings.
Not only is SAA not going to pay for her legal fees, but it also won’t support her at all.
Spokesperson Tlali Tlali said: “SAA has been cited as one of the defendants in this litigation. We have, however, opted not to defend the matter because there is no direct order sought against the airline.”
Myeni claimed she thought SAA would arrange a lawyer for her given that her role as board chair of the company was the one being questioned.
Tladi said the airline would abide by the decision of the court.
