‘More leaders like #Kolisi will come from rugby-playing schools’─── 09:48 Mon, 04 Nov 2019
"Siya Kolisi is a determined young man." These are the words of Andrew Hayidakis who discovered Kolisi as a schoolboy and offered him a rugby scholarship at Grey High School in Port Elizabeth.
Andrew who is currently vice principal at Grey College Primary School in Bloemfontein, says it brought him great joy and pure emotions to see Kolisi leading the Springboks team to become the Rugby World Cup 2019 Champions by defeating England on Saturday.
“It pulls my heartstrings whenever he makes the pre-match speeches and my wife and I have shared a tear or two witnessing Kolisi play for the country,” he unashamedly admits.
He says the country is yet to see more leaders like Siya Kolisi coming out of rugby-playing schools in the country.
?? “I have never seen South Africa like this. We were playing for the people back home. We can achieve anything if we work together as one.”
