Eight arrested for alleged theft of car, car parts in Rustenburg─── 06:33 Fri, 22 Nov 2019
Eight people were arrested in Sunrise View near Rustenburg on Thursday after cars and car parts were found at their home.
Boitekong police went to the premises after receiving a tip-off that vehicle parts were being loaded onto a truck. Upon arrival, officers found a black Mazda that was linked to a case of theft in Vanderbijlpark. Inside the home, parts were found belonging to a VW Golf 5.
The suspects were expected to appear in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Friday, where they are facing charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle parts.
Seven of the suspects are facing an additional charge of being in the country illegally.
