At the current recovery rate, South Africa will soon have less than 100,000 active COVID-19 cases.
Just 2,541 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
More than 5,000 people have recovered in the same period.
The Health Department also reported 143 new COVID-19 deaths.
Fifty people died in the Eastern Cape, 32 in the Western Cape, 25 in Mpumalanga, 14 in both Gauteng and KZN, five in the Free State, and three in the Northern Cape.
