President Cyril Ramaphosa outlined South Africa's economic recovery plan on Thursday.
The plan, for the most part, focuses on job creation, infrastructure, energy and driving industrial growth.
Ramaphosa also extended the COVID-19 social relief grant by three more months. Ramaphosa says creating jobs is a top priority for the government.
Millions of jobs were lost during the lockdown. COVID-19 took a massive toll on South Africa's economy, but the country's economy has been in decline for years. The President says barriers must be removed to create more job opportunities.
Ramaphosa also says the government has established an infrastructure fund to the tune of R100 billion to be for projects over the next ten years.
According to Ramaphosa, this will draw collaboration and partnership with the private sector.
