The Democratic Alliance is at the Cape Town High Court trying to get Garden Route beaches reopened.
Beaches in the area are closed until the 3rd of January to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
But, the DA argues that people are at a lower risk of contracting the virus when complying with social distancing regulations in open spaces.
Eastern Cape beaches are also closed, while in KZN they will be closed on specific days.
