Despite bullishly pushing ahead earlier, the Matric Rage Festival in Plettenberg Bay has been cancelled.
The festival was scheduled to start on Friday but due to the alarming number of positive cases being reported, the organisers have decided to cancel it.
Almost all schools set to attend reported positive cases.
In a statement, the organisers say even though they implemented the most stringent COVID-19 preventive measures, it was not enough to brave the current surge.
The pandemic shut down the rage festival in Ballito KZN.
