#Zuma back in court─── 05:39 Mon, 31 Jan 2022
Former president Jacob Zuma's corruption trial will be back in the headlines once again on Monday.
The High Court in Pietermaritzburg will hear a bid for leave to appeal Judge Koen's October decision.
The judge dismissed Zuma's application for the recusal of prosecutor Billy Downer.
The former president's legal team believes Downer lacks the title to prosecute Zuma.
eNCA reported in October 2021 the National Prosecuting Authority has raised concerns about the timing of former president Jacob Zuma's charges against Adv Billy Downer.
The former president has lodged a complaint of prosecutorial misconduct, against the State Prosecutor on Thursday.
He has also laid criminal charges against Downer.
Zuma claims Downer breached provisions of the NPA when he leaked medical information to News24 journalist Karyn Maughan.
The NPA says while the law must be allowed to take its course, it has concerns around the context and timing of the accusations ahead of the pending High Court judgment against Zuma.
