South African rhino lovers can expect a cuteness overload as a local wildlife sanctuary has welcomed a baby rhino.
CBSNews shared footage of the newborn on social media on Tuesday afternoon.
The white rhino is considered “near threatened”, with about 18,000 animals living in protected areas and private game reserves.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has recently reported that poaching was still an acute threat to the survival of the species.

In South Africa, a total of 210 rhinos were killed on government-owned properties, while 49 were poached in privately-owned parks in the first six months of 2022.
According to IUCN, a total of 2,707 rhinos were poached in Africa between 2018 and 2021, the vast majority of which were killed in South Africa, mainly in the Kruger National Park.
