Eskom extends stage 3 load-shedding 'until further notice'─── 15:17 Thu, 20 Oct 2022
Embattled power utility Eskom extended the implementation of stage 3 load-shedding on Thursday.
Eskom earlier said there would be a break from the power cuts between midnight and 4pm on Wednesday, when stage 3 would be implemented until midnight.
However, stage 3 was to return on Thursday afternoon to midnight, while on Friday, the rolling blackouts would have been stage 2 from 4pm onwards.
Eskom spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha, however, says stage 3 load-shedding has now been extended due to the failure of two units.
"Due to the failure of two units at Kendal Power Station and a unit each at Kriel and Arnot Power Stations, Stage 3 load-shedding has been extended from 05:00 today until further notice. A full statement will be published during the day."
