Siwelele FC coach hails supporters after dream PSL debut─── MORGAN PIEK 08:36 Mon, 11 Aug 2025

Siwelele FC coach, Lehlohonolo Seema, has heaped praise on the club’s supporters following their sensational 3-1 win over Golden Arrows in Bloemfontein on Saturday night in the Premier Soccer League.
Playing in front of nearly 22 000 fans at a near sell-out Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, Siwelele marked their PSL return with a historic victory. A brace from Siviwe Magidigidi and a strike by Vincent Pule sealed the win, which put them at the top of the log — albeit after just the opening round.

Reflecting on the match, Seema credited his players for sticking to the game plan and for surviving what he knew would be a tough opening period.
“Coming into the game, we knew we’d face this kind of pressure, even if we were playing away,” said Seema.
“Everybody knows we’re the new kids on the block. I can tell you, in the first 15 minutes, it looked like we were going to lose this game.

“But the good thing is, we had already spoken about it. We knew it would be like that, and we said we had to be resilient. We made sure that if we could just get through those 15 minutes, the game would open up.
“We stuck to the plan, and we knew the goals would come — that’s exactly what we wanted. Once we started pressing them high, we won the ball closer to their goal. That created chances, and even when they came forward, they attacked in numbers, which left spaces for us to exploit.”
Seema also highlighted improved transitions but admitted there’s still room for growth.
“Credit must go to the players. With the technical plan and the agreements we had, they stuck to their guns.”
He said the Phunya Sele Sele faithful, singing in full voice, gave the team extra energy on the pitch.
“I’m happy for Magidigidi getting his brace in front of our beautiful 12th man,” Seema said.

“Special thanks to the supporters — they pushed us even more. The game was swinging towards Golden Arrows at one stage, but they kept singing. At some point, they even put the torches on, and the players could see just how much the support meant. It helped them a lot.”
Siwelele’s next match is on Tuesday night at 19:30, when they take on Orbit College FC at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto — their first game on the road this season.
