Siwelele eye back-to-back wins in Bloemfontein showdown─── MORGAN PIEK 07:46 Tue, 05 May 2026
Siwelele FC face another stern test in the Premier Soccer League on Tuesday night in Bloemfontein as they look to build on their impressive 2–0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
Last week, Siwelele stunned the mighty Amakhosi in front of a near sold-out crowd at the Toyota Stadium, boosting their chances of finishing in the top eight and securing qualification for the MTN8.
On Tuesday, they come up against the newly crowned Nedbank Cup champions, Durban City, who currently sit seventh on the log and have been one of the surprise packages of the season.

Siwelele remain firmly in the hunt for a top-eight finish and, having already crossed the important 30-point mark, they can play with a bit more freedom. That said, there is no easing up, with challenging fixtures still ahead - including a clash with reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
This match also marks Siwelele’s penultimate home fixture of the season in Bloemfontein, and they will be eager to make another statement against a Durban City side that has consistently punched above its weight this campaign.
Following the win over the Glamour Boys, head coach Lehlohonolo Seema told OFM Sport that no single victory carries more weight than another, emphasising the team’s consistency in approach.
“This season, there’s no such thing as a ‘big’ victory for me,” said the former Bloemfontein Celtic and Orlando Pirates captain.
“We’ve played 26 matches, all like cup finals, and it’s been a real rollercoaster - tough from start to finish.
“So we don’t just celebrate wins - we value every single point we earn. The three points against Chiefs are no different to any other three points. Our mindset is to try and win every game, but if we can’t, we make sure we take something from it.
“Those three points don’t carry any extra weight - they’re the same as the next ones we fight for.

“Of course, playing in front of such passionate supporters creates a special atmosphere for the players, but ultimately, the reward remains the same. That’s the mentality we’ve instilled in the team - we fight the same in every match.
“When we return next week, you’ll see that same hunger and determination, because the points on offer will be exactly the same.
“The positive is having our supporters behind us at home - our record reflects that. They are our heartbeat, and we truly appreciate their backing.”
Tuesday night’s clash between Siwelele and Durban City at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
