SA break U20 4 x 100m relay world record | News Article

The South African men's 4 x 100m relay team broke the world record at the U20 World Championships in Kenya.

The team of Mihlali Xhotyeni, Sinesipho Dambile, Lucky Moleyane of Bloemfontein and Benjamin Richardson won the gold in Nairobi in a blistering time of 38.51 seconds.

In was in the third 100m where South Africa made the break with the Grey College boy, Molenyane, running a superb bend.

Jamaica crossed for the silver in 38.61 seconds, with Poland talking the bronze in 38.90 seconds. It took South Africa's medal tally to three golds, two silver and four bronze.

On Saturday, the head girl of Hoërskool Goudveld, Miné de Klerk, won gold in the women's shot put with the throw of 17.40. Dane Rotes took bronze with an attempt of 15.71m.
