South Africa's Lloyd Harris is into the second round at the qualifying tournament for the French Open at Roland Garros.

On Monday the 27-year-old survived a big scare while beating the French teenager and wildcard entry Arthur Gea in three-sets.

Harris dropped the first set but fought back to claim a 2-6, 6-1 and 7-5 after two hours and 10 minutes on court.

Harris’ serves game which is normally a big weapon proved to be less effective on clay as he served just three aces, however, he had a first percentage of 71%

On Wednesday, Harris will face the 22-year-old Italian, Mattia Bellucci, in the second round. Should Harris advance, he could face the third seeded Australian, James Duckworth, in the third round.

Meanwhile, the King of Clay and 14-time champion at Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal, appears to locked and loaded to play at his favourite Grand Slam for one last time, after practising at the famous tennis centre on Monday.
